At that time, the natural hair community on YouTube was much smaller. I did't recognize anyone with hair quite like mine. And so I began to document my journey through vlogging to keep track of my progress and hopefully help anyone else out who might have felt as lost as I did. Along the way my channel has evolved to include bits of other avenues like skin care and fitness. This workout consits of 1 circle with 5 exercises of traditional ab exercises and a lot of core work.

What you need: 15 minutes, 1 yoga mat and a bottle of water

Explanation:

Each exercise you repeat 20-25 times (or as often as you can) and if you finish 1 circle earlier than 15 minutes, you start with the circle again until you reach 15 minutes.

Afterwards is recommended to stretch 2-5 minutes.

Don't forget to drink between the circles.

BEST PROTEIN BARS FOR HEALTH AND WEIGHT LOSS | taste test and review

I always get asked what to look for in a healthy protein bar that will help you build muscle or help you with weight loss. In this video I teach you exactly what to look for in a protein bar to make sure it's a healthy snack.

My mom also sent me a few different protein bars and I taste test and review all of them in this video (NOT SPONSORED - all opinions are my own!)

What to look for in a protein bar?

1) QUALITY - Make sure the ingredients are all-natural, non-GMO, and organic is a BONUS. Avoid things you can't pronounce, anything "modified," sugar alcohols or artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners.

2) PROTEIN - Ideally 15-20 grams of protein. VERY MINIMUM 10 grams. Ideally plant-based protein or organic whey or collagen.

3) FAT - 5-10 grams is perfect to keep you feeling fuller longer.

4) FIBER - aim for 10 or more grams to keep you full longer and lower the net carbs.

5) SUGAR - THE LESS THE BETTER - no more than 10 grams if you're looking to lose weight. Stevia or natural sweeteners are best.

5 Worst Glutes Workout Mistakes Women Make (AND WHAT TO DO INSTEAD!!)

Avoid glutes workout mistakes by using our 90 day fitness and nutrition program video will show you the 5 worst glutes workout mistakes women make one by one so you can avoid them. You’ll want to stay tuned to be sure you’re not making any of these glute workout mistakes. We’ll show you a few of the worst glutes exercises as well as a few great butt exercises that you’ll want to be sure to do with proper form in order to avoid injury or prevent yourself from getting less than ideal results. There are also a couple of tips included here to help keep you from committing some of the worst workout mistakes when it comes to the glutes.

The first butt workout mistake is to be careful when doing step ups. One of the glutes workout mistakes to avoid is to be careful to press through the heel on the standing leg and rebound slowly to get best results. Another of the glutes mistakes is that many women hit only one angle with typical exercises like deadlifts and hip thrusts. You’ll want to be sure to also hit the glutes from other angles by doing curtsy lunges and side lunges. Another of the workout mistakes to avoid is to make sure you don’t go too light on the glutes. In your butt workouts you need to make sure you’re challenging the muscle by using a heavy weight so that you’ll really see some results. This is one of the worst deadlift mistakes that many women make…not going heavy enough.

Lunges aren’t one of the worst glutes exercises, in fact, they do work well for some women. However, if you don’t feel lunges working your glutes, or your butt isn’t sore the following day, just avoid them for glutes because it likely means they are only hitting your quads. Finally one of the biggest workout mistakes to avoid is to make sure you’re not doing anything that hurts. Anything that is hurting your joints will get in your way in the long run and the benefits don’t likely outweigh that, so just stay away! Although this workout is challenging, I can guarantee you though if you stay consistent training like this that you will see and make some great and noticeable gains within a few months. Here is the complete workout and it is Gain Certified!

***Warm - Up***

Treadmill - 30 seconds jog (7.5 mph) + 30 seconds walk (3.5 mph)

Repeat this 4 times and watch 1:25 if you are confused

1) Barbell Squats - 4 sets x 5 reps (go as deep as you can) (2:15)

***SUPER SET***

1) Standing Single Leg Curl - 4 sets x 10-15 reps (Stay Controlled)

2) Leg Press Feet High & Wide - 4 sets x 12-15 reps (push w/ heels)

Monster Energy has launched a pretty unique Protein Supplement that combines both High Protein and Caffeine. This unique RTD is being called an "Energy Shake", and we have to admit it's a cool concept. Not to mention the Protein Blend looks pretty sweet with both Whey and Casein.

But... We May Have A Problem With Monster Energy Shake

Looking over the label, Monster Protein Energy Shake is sporting both L-Car & Taurine which leads us down the potential dangers of amino spiking! Yes, the notorious amino spiking that we have so many times in the past caught companies doing. Basically the FDA guidelines can be walked around due to their nitrogen testing requirements. Because Protein (amino acids) have a nitrogen byproduct, they measure this amount to decide how much protein is in a product.

Here lies the problem...

Other non essential amino acids that may not contribute to muscle protein synthesis like Taurine can contribute to the total Nitrogen measured. Basically a company could in theory pump it full of Taurine, a cheap amino acid, and that would crank up the total grams of protein listed. So it may say 27g protein per serving, but in reality it could be short on ACTUAL complete muscle building protein by a large margin.
